Les Plages - Interview of an Aspiring Solopreneur
The Challenges of a Solopreneur
Starting a new business can be a scary and daunting task. For most people, it could seem like nothing more than a dream. Minjeong Park (Comme Moi) took on this seemingly impossible task as a solopreneur, starting her own online lifestyle boutique shop Les Plages located in Singapore, curating lifestyle creations of renowned designers and brands from all over the world. The brand launched from Instagram, and Minjeong was able to recognize and manage her regular customers through direct messages and emails without too much trouble. But there was a moment when the inquiries began snowballing, making it increasingly more difficult to manage just through Instagram DMs and emails alone. Customer experience quality started to drop, loyal customers started growing impatient, and the traffic just didn't seem to slow down.
This was when she discovered Channel.io.

Channel.io as a Solution to Customer Management
(Les Plages Website)
Channel.io prides itself on its support for small to medium sized businesses. From live chat & team chat, to customer relationship management(CRM), chat bot automation, and marketing, the platform holds nothing back. For Les Plages, run by a single business owner, this was a godsend.
"Channel.io saved me time and resources to focus on more important tasks such as adding products, managing inventory and website maintenance. I could finally spend more time on my business's top priorities and Channel.io's team is always willing to help and share ideas!"
The platform provided Les Plages with a way to manage their customer inquiries without having to spend a lot of their time or resources. The free live chat system allowed them to operate without worrying about depleting their funds. The chatbot system was set up to answer their most frequently asked questions, while reducing the number of repeat questions. Marketing allowed them to set up different promotions for either their returning or new customers.

Les Plages's Favorite Feature
"It was nice to be able to recognize who my loyal customers were."
The UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) allowed Les Plages to look at Customer Inflow Data to pinpoint where most of their customers were flowing in from. From there, Minjung recognized that someone had written a review of her products on an online community page of 300,000 members. "It was easy to come up with a marketing strategy based on this UTM information." Using the information provided by Channel.io Les Plages was able to target their marketing directly at this source, and recognize opportunities that would have otherwise gone unnoticed.
The Future of Les Plages
So what's next for Les Plages? With more time and resources available to be invested back into the business, Minjeong plans to focus her attention on the Singapore market next year. Her priority is to build a strong presence there to ease her expansion into the East Asian market.
"I have already received many wholesale inquires from overseas! Since the home decor market has not yet matured in Singapore, I plan to import and introduce more diverse home decor items that reflect the mood of Les plages. Through Channel.io, I want to build relationships with local customers, manage CRM, and build my brand."
Using Channel.io's marketing recipes and taking inspiration from other success cases, Les Plages aims to turn more of their first time visitors into returning ones, and plans to build strong relationships with her customers.
“I want to build relationships with local customers...
and build my brand.”
