Linear
Link Linear issues to team chat threads, follow comments and status changes, and manage issues with CoS.
This app helps with
Keep track of Linear issues where your team talks.
Choose linear-link in a TeamChat thread’s reply composer, search by issue title, and select an issue. Linking posts the issue link and previous comments together; new comments and status changes then arrive in the same thread. New comments show just the author and content.
Let CoS help with Linear work.
The app provides 68 functions for tasks such as finding, creating, and updating issues and writing comments. CoS can call these functions within your connected account’s permissions.
Connect your own account and manage each thread.
Each manager connects their own Linear account. Use linear-status to check the linked issue and linear-unlink to stop synchronization. Automatic synchronization currently runs from Linear to TeamChat only. Automatically sending TeamChat replies to Linear is planned for v2.
Recommended for
For teams that discuss product and development in TeamChat and manage issues in Linear. Spend less time switching apps to check comments and progress, and keep issue context in the thread where the conversation started.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where and how can I use the app?
Choose linear-link in the reply composer of a public TeamChat group thread. Enter an issue title and select a result to link it. Search may also include matches in issue descriptions. Use linear-status to check the link and linear-unlink to remove it. The regular group composer, private groups, DirectChat, and UserChat are outside the supported scope. App mentions are planned once AppPerson is available.
Who connects the Linear account?
After installation, each manager connects their own Linear account through OAuth in personal settings. Each connection targets one Linear workspace and actions follow that account’s permissions. The app does not fall back to another manager’s credentials. Disconnecting OAuth stops synchronization; after reconnecting, link the threads you need again.
What data does the app store?
App Store manages OAuth access and refresh tokens. The Linear app stores account connection identifiers and display names, thread-to-issue links, and delivery and deduplication state. It also stores received comment content and authors and the initial comment snapshot needed for synchronization. OAuth tokens and manager email addresses are not stored in the app database.
What is sent to the thread?
Linking sends the issue link and previous comments in chronological order. Long content is split across messages; if processing limits are exceeded, linking reports an error instead of silently omitting content. New comments and all actual status changes then arrive, including custom states with their original Linear names. App notices support Korean, English, and Japanese; issue and comment content is not translated. Comment edits, deletions, reactions, and attachment files are not mirrored. Automatically sending TeamChat replies to Linear is planned for v2.
